Small Bore Tie Rod Cylinders

Small bore NFPA cylinders are designed to generate high performance in most applications. They incorporate a tie-rod construction that allow for flexure. Small bore cylinders are available with double rods, high temperature seals, and for hydraulic use. Some of our small bore cylinders are available with cushions and pneumatic end of stroke sensors.


Dynamation - Tie Rods

Dyna-Mation DM1 cylinders are designed to generate high performance in most applications. They incorporate an internal bronze rod bearing and tie-rod construction that allow for strength and flexure. Mead offers a wide variety of mounting and accessory options, including a non-rotating rod, non-lube seals, high temp seals, and magnetic piston options.


Heavy Duty Cylinders (NFPA)

Combining NFPA dimensional interchangeability and high quality components, the HD1 series offers excellent performance and long service life, even in the most severe conditions. HD1 cylinders are fitted with a heavy-duty, Teflon® impregnated and hard coat anodized external rod bearing which ensures smooth rod motion while maintaining rod rigidity and stability.

 

HD1 Large Bore

HD large bore cylinders combine NFPA dimensional interchangeability and high quality components, offering excellent performance and long service life, even in the most severe conditions. All cylinders are fitted with a heavy-duty external rod bearing, Teflon®-impregnated and hard coat anodized, ensuring smooth rod motion while maintaining rod rigidity.

Anti-Tiedown "Touch" Control Systems

 

CSVs are two-hand anti-tiedown controls. They provide safer operation of air presses, drill fixtures, clamping fixtures, cylinders, valves, or light assembly equipment. Concurrent actuation of the recessed buttons generates a signal. Releasing either button stops the signal which cannot be re-instituted until both buttons are again actuated concurrently.

 

• Low Stress types are for high production   applications where operator fatigue is a concern
• CSV-101W and CSV-102W are designed for use in   a wash-down environment
• CSV-107 logic unit responds to remote signals
• CSV-107 may be purchased alone or with low   stress signal valves
• CSV-101, CSV-101LS, and CSV-101W have a flow   of Cv = 0.11
• CSV-102, CSV-102LS, and CSV-102W have a flow   of Cv = 1.00

NEW Wash-Down CSV-102W

Concurrent actuation of the recessed buttons generates a signal. Releasing one or both buttons immediately stops the signal which cannot be re-instituted until both buttons are again actuated
concurrently. Low Stress (LS) models are for high production applications where operator fatigue is a concern. Needing only 6 ounces of force to actuate, LS units ease the stress on worker's hands and wrists and greatly reduce the risk of repetitive motion disorders. Standard models require 18 ounces of force to actuate.

 

CSVs are designed for use in a wash-down environment. The units provide the same pilot and power functionality of the CSV-101 and CSV-102, respectively. The logic circuitry is housed in a fiberglass industrial control panel enclosure, providing excellent chemical and corrosion resistance.

Air Impact Hammers

Mead's AH-65 delivers a consistent, uniform blow. It is designed to accelerate, then strike a tool which may be guided by the supplied tool arm. A spring returns the hammer to the start position after the work is completed. The head must be free without fixtures or tooling attached directly to it.


• The impact force may be adjusted from a few   ounces to 4,500 lbs
• AH-65 is supplied with a CSV-102 two-hand control   unit
• Pressure Range: 25-175 PSI
• The trip mechanism releases the hammer when air   in the chamber reaches a set level
• The hammer head accelerates to the end of its   stroke
• A longer stroke creates greater velocity and greater   impact

Collet Fixtures

Mead's collet fixtures evenly and firmly grip all round bar stock during drilling, machining, positioning, or assembling tasks This is done with no marring of the surface of the bar. The workpiece passes through the collet fixture. The collets accept 3C and 5C collets. A collet wrench is supply with each collet fixture.


• Works with all round bar stock
• Applied holding pressure: 3,400 lbs for PCF and   7,100 lbs for the LS-1
• Round stock capacity for PCF is 1/2" and LS-1 is 1"
• Double acting fixtures must be actuated with a
  4-way valve
• Model PCF will prevent a bar from turning at up to 10   ft-lbs of applied torque
• Model LS-1 will prevent a bar from turning at up to   40 ft-lbs of applied torque
