Modular Venturi Vacuum Pumps with Pneumatic Blowoff

Vaccon’s Modular Venturi Vacuum Pumps with pneumatic blow-off are manufactured with an integral part release blow-off system that provides an instantaneous, fixed duration blast of air when the vacuum pump is turned off. No additional wiring or plumbing is required.

Vaccon VP0X, VP1X, VP2X/VP2XBV and VP8X/VP8XBV Series Fastbreak Modular Venturi Vacuum Pumps are manufactured with an integral pneumatic blow-off system that provides an instantaneous blast of stored air when the vacuum pump is turned off. Vaccon's modular venturi vacuum pumps with high speed blow-off are ideally suited for pick and place applications that require accurate part placement and rapid part release. In addition to offering extremely fast blow-off capabilities, these compact pumps incorporate the same high quality construction features and superior operating performance for which all Vaccon products are known. No external plumbing or on-site assembly is required.

Venturi Pumps with Solenoid Operated Vacuum and Blow-off

Vaccon’s VP01QRBV and VP35 Solenoid-controlled Modular Venturi Vacuum pumps feature dual solenoid valves to control air for both vacuum control and blow-off for rapid part release. The integral vacuum and blow‑off circuit design provides instantaneous response for high speed assembly and pick & place applications.

The VP01QRBV Series vacuum is a compact, low profile, lightweight unit ideal for small part pick and place applications. These compact pumps require little installation space and can be positioned close to the vacuum point for fast response.

The VP35 is a Mid Series Modular Venturi Vacuum pump with dual solenoid valves for vacuum control and rapid part release. Like other Vaccon Mid Series pumps, performance can be updated by swapping out the interchangeable venturi vacuum cartridge.

    Multi-port Venturi Vacuum Pumps

Vaccon VP Multi-port pumps have 4 (VP10, VP20 or VP80) or 6 (VP90) vacuum ports that distribute vacuum equally to multiple locations with “Home-Run” plumbing. The streamlined design minimizes vacuum loss, maximizes vacuum flow and speeds cycle times for safe, efficient lifting operations.

In addition to the 4 or 6 vacuum ports, there is an additional port that can be plumbed to a compressed air source to provide a blow-off. The manifold design allows the one compressed air connection to feed blow-off air to all vacuum locations simultaneously, saving the need to plumb a separate blow-off line to each location. An M5 threaded port allows you to connect a Vaccon miniature vacuum sensor/switch to provide an electrical signal for vacuum achieved/part present and to alert failures.

  • VP10-MP Series provides the flexibility of the compact and lightweight VP10 Modular design with an integral 4 Port vacuum manifold.
  • VP20-MP Series provides the flexibility of most popular Modular Venturi Pump with an integral 4 Port vacuum manifold. A glycerin filled vacuum gauge is standard, and an integrated solenoid valve for vacuum control is an option.
  • VP80-(200,250)-MP Series provides the power of Vaccon's Max Series design with an integral 4 Port vacuum manifold and glycerin filled vacuum gauge. An integrated solenoid valve for vacuum control is an option.
  • VP90-(300,350)-MP Series delivers the highest vacuum flow of Vaccon's Modular Vacuum Pumps with an integral 6 Port vacuum manifold and glycerin filled vacuum gauge.
  • Venturi Vacuum Pumps with Air Saver Technology

Vaccon offers a line of venturi vacuum pumps with full pneumatic Air Saver Technology. The air saver system is ideal for vacuum applications that are time dependent. It reduces the use of compressed air, reducing the overhead costs.

The Vaccon Air Saver Circuit is an all-pneumatic system designed to minimize compressed air usage in vacuum clamping and vessel evacuation applications. For pick and place applications handling non porous materials, the Air Saver Circuit will maintain a safe holding force, save compressed air and hold the part even if the compressed air supply is interrupted providing an extra level of safety when handling large loads.

This complete system requires only a compressed air source to be fully functional. The system includes a venturi vacuum pump, vacuum check valve, air piloted air valve and pneumatic vacuum switch. The pneumatic vacuum switch is the brain of the system that constantly monitors the vacuum level. The vacuum switch is adjustable from 0 to 30”Hg and is set using the adjustment knob.

The hysteresis is set at approximately 3”Hg. Simply set the switch to the desired vacuum level and should there be a leak in the system where the vacuum level drops by 3”Hg or more, the Air Saver Circuit automatically re-energizes the venturi to bring the system back to the preset vacuum level and then de-energizes the venturi, often in less than one second. The vacuum check valve then re-seals the system.

The Vaccon Air Saver Technology has been adapted to the entire range of Vaccon venturi vacuum pumps. These are ideal for creating and maintaining vacuum for safe, energy efficient operations for clamping, pick and place and vessel evacuation applications.

The VP20 Series venturi vacuum pumps with Air Saver Technology use the same modular venturi construction as the Mid Series Venturi Vacuum Pumps. They are highly efficient, capable of reaching 28"Hg [948mbar], and dirt tolerant.

The VP80-(200 & 250) Max Series Air Saver Pumps provide high vacuum flow for applications involving slightly porous materials such as cardboard.

All-Pneumatic Pilot Controlled Venturi Vacuum Pumps

The all pneumatic VP50 Series are air pilot controlled venturi vacuum pumps that feature an integral check valve and air pilot controlled blow-off for rapid part release or vacuum line clean out. Using air pilot control, VP50 Series pumps generate vacuum only when needed, minimizing compressed air consumption. The unique, compact design of the VP50 Series allows for easy integration close to the work area for faster response.

There are three versions of the VP50 Series available:

  • VP50 - Air pilot vacuum control and blow-off
  • VP50-AS - Integrated air saver circuit, for reduced air consumption and pilot controlled blow-off
  • VP50-ASP - Air pilot controlled vacuum with integrated air saver circuit, pilot controlled blow-off and pneumatic signal output for vacuum setpoint notification
  • Using air pilot control, VP50 Series pumps generate vacuum only when needed, minimizing compressed air consumption. The unique, compact design of the VP50 Series allows for easy integration close to the work area for faster response.

    High Vacuum Venturi Vacuum Pumps

Vaccon’s HighVac Series venturi vacuum pumps offer the highest vacuum level performance available with any air-operated pump. The HighVac Series of pumps is capable of delivering vacuum levels up to 29.5”Hg [999mbar] at 3 vacuum flow rates.

The high vacuum level and compact size of the HVP pump allows you to incorporate smaller and more efficient components in your design. Often used to replace expensive, noisy, heat generating electric pumps, HVP pumps are quiet and maintenance free, ideal for small shops, labs and recharging HVAC systems.

Please Note: Vacuum Level = the magnitude of suction created by the vacuum pump. Vacuum level is affected by elevation and barometric pressure. For each 1,000 feet of elevation, the ultimate vacuum level that the pump can achieve decreases by approximately 1” Hg [22.9mbar]. For example, a HVP pump operating in Denver, Colorado at an altitude of approximately 1 mile [5280 feet] will only be capable of achieving a vacuum level of approximately 24.5” Hg [561mbar]

Cylindrical Venturi Vacuum Pumps (J Series)

The J-Series Venturi Vacuum Pumps utilize a fixed venturi design, manufactured for inline use employing a cylindrical body for ease of installation and mounting near the point of use for rapid response. Lightweight, quiet and cool operating, J-Series pumps offer a complete range of venturi vacuum performance, with vacuum levels up to up to 28"Hg [948mbar] and vacuum flows from 0.5 to 28.0 SCFM [14.2 to 792.9 L/min]. The J Series pumps can be manufactured in a wide range of materials for chemical compatibility and environmental requirements.

All the J Series pumps are available in pink to support The Breast Cancer Research Society. For more details on Vaccon's support of breast cance research, click here.

This configuration of these inline pumps offer a simple compact design for easy point-of-use installations in the tightest spaces.

Both the VPI-90H and MPVG Series of inline pumps offer high performance with powerful vacuum: the up to 28"Hg [948mbar] with the VPI-90H pump and up to 26.8"Hg [908mbar] or 27.1"Hg [918mbar with the MPVG Series. The VPI-90H has a port for an optional parts presence switch or vacuum level sensor.

    RTM Series Venturi Vacuum Pumps

Ideally suited for use in dusty and dirty environments, RTM cartridges replace failed or clogged multi-stage pumps, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. RTM cartridges thread directly into existing multi-stage vacuum pumps and vacuum grippers for immediate, reliable, trouble-free operations.

Vaccon's advanced venturi design generates high internal velocities that carry dirt through and out of the pump. With no elements to impede flow or trap dirt, Vaccon pumps don't require filters or maintenance and never lose suction. Multi-stage pumps function using flap valves that clog from ingested environmental debris. Filters are required to protect the flap valves. Screens are added to vacuum cups to protect filters. Any or all of these parts can clog, causing loss of suction. Loss of suction causes production to stop until maintenance is performed and/or pump and filter replacement occurs. Vaccon RTM high performance Mid Series cartridges operate continuously without maintenance, the need for costly filters or cup screens, eliminating downtime, increasing productivity and improving profitability.

Available as a complete pump assembly or just the threaded cartridge, Vaccon's RTM Series is directly interchangeable with installed multi-stage units, eliminating the need to retool existing production equipment. Simply remove the threaded multi-stage cartridge and screw-in the Vaccon RTM single‑stage replacement. Full pump units can be exchanged in minutes in many cases. The RTM Series compact size gives the flexibility to allow installation in nearly any space.

Variable Flow Venturi Vacuum Pumps (VDF Series)

The VDF Series is a unique Vaccon innovation that places the vacuum port and exhaust path inline making a straight-through venturi vacuum pump. These compact pumps offer high flow rates up to 120 SCFM [3400 LPM] and high vacuum levels up to 25”Hg [847mbar].

Developed for extremely dirty and dusty environments such as foundries, refractory and bagging operations, VDF pumps don’t clog, lose suction or require a vacuum filter.

Standard VDF pumps are field-adjustable allowing you to regulate the vacuum flow and vacuum level to meet your application requirements. This maximizes energy efficiency by consuming only the compressed air necessary to do the job. A pressure regulator is not required as the pump can be tuned to operate at any pressure above 50 PSI [3.5 bar].

For applications requiring a fixed vacuum level, Vaccon offers preset and permanently locked VDF pumps at customer specified vacuum settings, 10-25”Hg [339-847mbar], “pinned” at the factory for consistent and tamper-proof operations.

    Material Conveying Pumps (DF Series)

The DF Series of high flow material conveying vacuum pumps provide a simple, reliable and cost effective method of in-line transfer of bulk materials, complex shapes, individual objects, selvedge.

The DF pump's unique capability to create instantaneous vacuum flow and high air velocity, combined with its straight-through, smooth bore design allows material to pass directly through the pump at high speeds without interference or clogging.

Simply regulate the input pressure to adjust and control the transfer speed. For maximum efficiency, the compact design allows close placement to the work area. DF Series material conveying pumps are made of anodized aluminum and available in 17 standard models with inside diameters from 1/8" [6mm] to 4" [100mm].

Sizing the correct DF material transfer pump should take into account the material density, particle size, transfer rate required (kg/min), elevation and length of transfer line.
